Meet our new Ilvessian – Alicia

Read how Alicia stumbled upon the world of Legal Tech and began an internship at Ilves

What inspired you to pursue a career in legal tech?

Previously unfamiliar with the world of legal tech, I met our CEO Heikki last spring at Paragraaffi’s networking event. He was looking for a legal tech trainee, and I am always eager to explore new learning and professional opportunities. I believe Heikki’s extensive legal knowledge—having worked in the industry for 20 years—along with his business acumen, aligned well with my professional aspirations. I started a yearlong internship with Ilves in September.

What specific skills or experiences do you bring to the team?

I have an international educational background, having studied History and Politics at Trinity College Dublin, and I am currently a law student at the Eastern University of Finland. Growing up in a diplomatic family and living in several countries has given me a global perspective that enhances my sales and networking abilities, enabling me to connect effectively with clients from various backgrounds. I speak several languages fluently, including Polish, French, English, and Finnish, and I am currently learning Swedish. I believe my client-centric work experience has sharpened my ability to understand and address client needs. I bring a courageous personality, creativity, and excellent networking skills to the team.

Can you share any interesting projects or initiatives you are working on?

I assist Heikki and the team in various capacities, including managing the Ilves Insight Newsletter and the Legal Tech Transformation newsletter. I also support the organization of Legal Tech Glögit events, contribute to marketing efforts, and assist with sales. Essentially, I am involved in a bit of everything. I have even written a few lines of code and am currently testing Ilves’ new AI products.

What do you hope to achieve during your time as a Legal Tech Trainee at Ilves?

I am eager to dive deep into the latest advancements and trends in the field, in order to understand how technology is transforming the legal practice and enhancing client services. I aim to build meaningful connections within the industry. I hope to refine my ability to present legal tech solutions persuasively and respond to client needs adeptly, ensuring that I can contribute effectively to our team and support the growth of Ilves.
